Smoke and Mirrors

Smoke and Mirrors
by Neil Gaiman

Rating: 4/5

I enjoyed this book a lot because there sure seems to be plenty of variety, something for all tastes.

While some stories seem to be original from scratch to me, for the most part, Gaiman takes us through stories, fables, tales, concepts we all know, and rearranges them in a near brilliant way, managing to create something that sometimes is terrifying, others thought provoking, even disgusting, but always creepy and a pleasure to read. Some stories are only a couple pages long, the shortest is exactly 100 words, not counting the title, so it’s pretty amazing to me how engaging the author can be in each and single one of them.

Not so much a fan of the poems, too disperse for my own taste and reading habits, but that’s just me. Overall, a fun and thrilling read. I recomend it to all.
