I have read Luckiest Girl Alive and definitely plan on watching the movie.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and A Monster Calls have been on my to buy list for a while, so I am very tempted to buy them.

  2. That’s a great idea! I’ve read about 5 books from the list, among them is The Choice, Miss Peregrine, Allegiant, Legend and Fallen. I still want to get to some of those before the movie comes out though, like Me Before You. I need to read that book!

      • I was a little underwhelmed by Miss Peregrine, but I am excited for the movie. The style of the book and the effort that was put into it was awesome, especially the photos, but somehow they are actually interfering with the description of the characters and it didn’t really add up for me. The story just fell a little flat in the end, but I do know a lot of people who think otherwise though.

      • I have heard those thoughts from other people as well and yet others seemed to thoroughly enjoy it.

        Considering the reviews I have read, I will probably be disappointed as well but, hey, at least I will stop wondering.

        I heard a sequel came out, maybe that will clear up some of the stuff that left you feeling that way in the end?

      • You won’t know for sure until you read it, that’s certain ;)
        I’ve actually read book 1 and 2 of the series, but neither one entirely convinced me. I am going to read the third book and conclusion though because I want to know how it ends. I heard it is tied up quite neatly.

      • Oh that would be great.
        Trilogies are a big thing these days huh… I never thought one could develop that concept into three books. Not sure if I should have ordered it now, I will definitely want to read the other 2 :/

      • Exactly! Especially because most books end with cliffhangers but it’s not just that it’s like leaving a book unfinished. I enjoy embracing myself in the whole story before moving on to the next one.

  3. I LOVED ‘Room’, but am not sure I want to see the film – the book handled the whole subject with great restraint, but it could be a really gruelling film, I think. I am still gutted that I missed ‘The Martian’ on the big screen, but highly, highly recommend that book… Ones that really worked for me in BOTH mediums – Lord of the Rings and the Harry Potter franchise. Thought they were excellent. I’ve not yet seen the final Hunger Games film, but I’ve enjoyed the films to date and also loved the books. What about you – are there any books and films that you loved in both forms?

    • Hey if you’re like me and lack any sort of hacking skills there’s always the dvd!

      That’s just what I am hoping for – a highly emotionally packed film told from a child’s point of view.

      Honestly… I am not sure if I have ever enjoyed a movie quite as much as the book. The one that came closest was probably Shawshank Redemption.

      And then there are movies that I would have absolutely love if I haven’t read the book before, like The Shining.

      Yeah, I keep going back to Mr King, huh? :))

      • Eheh I hear ya. I try not to watch horror movies at night. Maybe watching during the day and the sun shining in it won’t be so bad? :)
        Besides, it was made what is considered ages ago in the movie industry so I am sure it won’t have as much impact.
        I have to say I didn’t appreciate whoever played Wendy’s performance at all…

    • Eheh yep, out of Ness’ books that is definitely the one I want to start with so seemed like the perfect opportunity!

      I hope the fact that I got the paperback and not the hardback does not make much of a difference. I thought I heard someone say something about pictures on the hardback. Then again I am not sure if they meant it literally or not, just that it was worth getting the hardback.
